We’re lucky to enjoy an absurd degree of diversity in the fashion world, but it’s always nice to remember that the world (fashion, and otherwise) wasn’t always this way.
To illustrate that point, streetwear heavy LRG took over its own website with a massive black-and-white photograph of Martin Luther King, Jr. The image effectively suspends e-commerce for the brand, so it’s certainly not just an empty ploy for attention, because its sacrificing something real in exchange for the opportunity to homage a great American.
Presumably, LRG’s webstore will be running again tomorrow, at which point you should support the brand for its move on MLK Day.
